The gift-land was purchased from Tunaiyirundāḷ Sāni, by the donor.

The details of date viz., Mithuṉa śu 13, Sunday, Kēṭṭai, correspond to 1234 A.D., June 11, Sunday, 28; 92. This registers the agreement regarding a gift of vēli of land in Anapāya-chaturvēdimaṅgalam in Iḍaiyala-nāḍu in Rājēndraśōḻa-vaḷanāḍu to the donor Vēḷāṉ Kudan- dai nāyakan alias Pañchavarayan of Siraikkāvūr, in Kilay-kkūṟṟam, in Nittavinōda- vaḷanāḍu by the temple authorities. The land was made over to the Sivabrāh- manas for burning a perpetual lamp with one uḻakku of oil daily in the temple. The weight of the lamp is stated to be 80 palam.

This records the gift of ¼ veli of land made tax-free by the uravar of Siṟumut- tarai and Păṛpunankilaiyan Karikālaśōḻa-ppallavaraiyan, for food offerings to the deities Aluḍaiyār and Nayakar and their Nāchchiyār s, whose images were set up by Andanāyakan alias Piramiśvaramuḍaiyār, the headman of Karaikkaḍaippu Elumur in the western division of Umbaḷa-nāḍu in the temple of Пlamaṟaikkāḍuḍaiya nāyanār.

The details of date given are Mithuṉa ba. 5, Wednesday, Sōdi (Svāti). The combination of ba. 5 and Svāti is impossible in the month of Mithuṉa . This records the gift of 13 vēli and 1 mā of land made free of taxes fixed by rājā-niyōgam, nāṭṭuvivāṭṭai (vyavasthai), ur-vivāṭṭai, etc., as tirunandāvilakkupūram, by Panganvay-uḍaiyāṉ alias Rājārājā-mūvēndavēḷāṉ, of Kiliyur for burning a perpetual lamp to the deity Tirumaṟaikkāḍu-uḍaiyār, in Umbaḷa-nāḍu. In detailing the boundaries of the land the record mentions a piece of land sold by the donor to Aluḍai Nachchi Amudāļvi, (a Dēvaraḍiyār), and a piece of land leased to Arindavan Pallavaraiyan by Chittarayan.

This records the gift of 2 vēli of land in three plots, made tax-free in Kulōttuṅga- śōlanallur in Umbaḷa-nāḍu by Maluvadi Chelvan of Pundi for burning a perpetual lamp in the temple of Tirumaṟaikkāḍu-uḍaiyār. Among the boundaries of the second plot of land is mentioned the Dēvadāna land of Tiruttantoṉṟisvaram-uḍaiyār of Veṭkuṉṟūr and among those of the third mentioned the piece of land pulaikkaḍaichchey belonging to Tennavan Mūvēnda- Vēḷāṉ, land in Vayalur and a highway (peruvali.)

This inscription refers to the invation by Singaṇa Daṇḍanā aka of the chōḻa country in the 25th year (1240-41 A.D.) of Rājārājā's reign. It records the order (tāṇa-niyōgam) of the trustees (sthānāṭṭār) of the temple of Tirukködikkulagar in Kuṉṟūr-nāḍu, a division of Umbaḷa-nāḍu conferring certain honours on Sāṭṭan Bhāṭṭanambi alias Uttaman-Nambi of Atulaparākkiramapūram in Kāṉāṭṭūr-nāḍu, who besides providing a capital of 50,000 kāśu for repairs, undertook to provide for the re-consecration, daily worship and festivals in the temple, which had been disturbed and neglected due to the invasion of Singana Dandanāyaka.

On palaeographical considerations, this inscription may be assigned to the 13th century. This seems to record the gift of 2,000 kuḻi of land by purchase for service and offerings early in the morning to god Tiruvagāṭṭiyanpaḷḷi-uḍaiyār in Kuṉṟūr-nāḍu in Umbar-vaḷanāḍu alias Taraṇimuludum-udaiya-vaḷanāḍu by Arayan Pōyan Vilup- paraiyan, the kilavan of Elumūr, who is also stated to have reclaimed the land which was lying fallow. The donor is stated to have deposited in the temple 45 panam for his purpose, out of which 5 panam was provided towards the payment of taxes such as kuḍimai, viņivōgam, etc.

This epigraph records the grant of 5 veli of land, made free of taxes to god Tiruvagāṭṭiyanpaḷḷi-uḍaiyār in Kuṉṟūr-nāḍu, in Umbar-vaḷanāḍu alias Taranimulud udaiya-vaḷanāḍu, for the celebration of a festival in the month of Vaikāśi, on the last day of which occurs the star Hasta, for the health of the king by the Nāṭṭavar of Kun- rūr-nāḍu. The land was called Bhagampiriyāda-nallur after the name of the god.

On grounds of palaeography the inscription may be assigned to the 13th century. This inscription records a gift of 150 varahan for a perpetual lamp for god Tirukködikku lagar in Umbaḷa-nāḍu alias Taraņimuludumudaiya-vaḷanāḍu by Gamudavan Andan Perra[n*].

On grounds of palaeography the king Jaṭavarman Sundarapāṇḍya may be identified with the second king of that name and the details of date given, viz.,1[1]th year, Vris- chika, ba. 6, Wednesday, Pūśam, correspond to 1287 A.D., October 29, Wednesday. This inscription records the grant of lands after purchasing the same from the temple for 150 panam, to god Tiru-Adittiśvaram-uḍaiyār in TirutTēvūr in Tēvūr- nāḍu in ArumoliDēva-vaḷanāḍu, as capital for performing the Aṭkoṇḍanāyakan-sandhi named after the donor, just after the early morning service, by AlagiyaMaṇavāḷan, Aṭkoṇḍanāyakan of Tengudi, a lease-holder in Menilappāḍi alias Vīrarājēndrapūram in Tiruvārūr-kūṟṟam in Geyamāṉikka-vaḷanāḍu. The temple authorities undertook to conduct the service even in times of floods and draught. This money received as price for the land was utilised by the temple authorities to construct in stone the structure above the kumudaga-ppudai and kovalam in the tiru-agra-maṇḍapam.

இக்காசு நாலாயிரமும் அந்நாளில் கைக்கொண்டு திருநந்தாவிளக்கு எரித்துவருகிறபடியெ, திருக்குத்திவிளக்கு ஒன்றினால் எடை 200 பலம்

This inscription refers to a grant made in the 30th year (1208 A.D.) of Periya- Dēvar Tribhuvaṇavīradēvar i.e., Kulōttuṅga III. This epigraph records the undertaking given by the Sivabrāhmaṇas of the temple of Tiruvelliyangunram-uḍaiyār to continue to burn the lamp for which they received 4000 kāśu from Kuruppulan Tiruvēkambamuḍaiyāṉ Tiruchchō rrutturai-uḍaiyāṉ in the 30th year of the reign of Tribhuvanaviradēva. The lamp given by the donor is said to have weighed 200 palam. The donor is also mentioned in No. 575 below.

This inscription records the gift of one mā of land, as araśupēru entrusted to the palligal of the land endowed as tirunundāvilakkuppūram, for supplying oil for a perpetual lamp for god Tiruvelliyangunramuḍaiyār, by the Oravar of Tirutteṅgūr Velliyiḍunagaram in Rājārājāśōḻa-vaḷanāḍu.

This inscription commences with the praśasti Kadal suḥnda pārmagaļum, etc., of Rājādhirājā II. The details of date given, viz., Year 2, Mesha śu. 6, Monday, Punar pūšam, regularly correspond to 1168 A.D., April 15, Monday, 30; 28. Dr. Kielhorn however has equated these details to 1164 A.D., March 30, 85. The star, however, was current throughout Tuesday and continued on Wednesday till 10 of that day according to the Indian Ephemeris. This records a gift of two pieces of land by purchase as Rājādhirājāppēṟuvilai from Tōnri Mūvayirāṭṭoruvan, one of the tiruvīdi āṇḍār and a headman of Peruñār, tiruppudiyiduṭṭu vilāgam (i.e., land whose fresh produce is entirely allotted for food offerings) by Palaiyaṉūr-uḍaiyāṉ Vēdavaṇam-uḍaiyāṉ Ammai-Appan alias Rājārājā-vilupparaiyan of Menmalai-ppalaiyaṉūr-nāḍu in Jayangonḍaśōḻa-maṇḍalam.

Palaeographically the inscription may be assigned to the 14th century and the details of date given, viz., Year 35, Simha śu. 5, Wednesday, Chittirai regularly correspond to 1342 A.D., August 7, 44; 30. This seems to record a gift of land by purchase, after making it tax free, for the recitation of Vedic hymns (adhyayana) once daily in the temple, by Tōlāṇ IRājārājā Akalanka-ṇādā[ļvān] of Tiruttonḍiśvaram in Paṇaiyur-nāḍu in Kulōttuṅgassōḻa- vaḷanāḍu.

Year 10, Miṉa śu. 13, Tuesday, Maghā. regularly correspond to 1173 A.D., February 27, Tuesday, 48; 65. These details regularly correspond also to 1176 A.D., February 24, Tuesday, '41; 85. This records a grant of land, bought as Irājādhirājā-ppēṟuvilai in Sōlakērala- nallur in Tiruvārūr-kkūṟṟam in Gēyamāṉikka-vaḷanāḍu as kāņi to goddess Paralōka . . menmoli-Nāchchiyār in the shrine of the goddess Tirukkāmakköṭṭam-uḍaiva Periyāṉāchchiyār in the temple of god Sri-mülasthanamuḍaiyār by Palaiyaṉūruḍaiyāṉ Vēdavaṇamuḍaiyāṉ Ammai Appan alias Pallavarājān of Menmalai-palaiyaṉūr- nāḍu in Jayangonḍaśō a-maṇḍalam (vide No. 583 above).

This record commences with the praśasti pugalmāḍu vilanga etc., of Kulōttuṅga I. It states that the sabhā of Pudukkuḍi, a brahmadēya in Tiruvārūr-kkūṟṟam in Geyamāṉikka-vaḷanāḍu, having assembled at the Dēvaśriyan sold and made tax-free various pieces of lands with all rights of irrigation to Tribhuvanamuḍaiyāṉ IRājēndra. sōlan alias Kulōttuṅgassōḻa-Malaiyārājāpanmar, a panimagan, resident in the place, who paid 244 kalañju of gold and donated the land for daily worship and offerings to the deity Umai Nangai set up at the Ulaguyyakkoṇḍa-kāmakkottam. The treasury is called Tyagavinodan and the standard weight stone is stated to be equivalent to Tyāgavinōdan-māḍai.

Other details are lost in the portion built in. This records a grant of land in Rājāra inn-Põttūr alias Ammaiappanallur, formerly a portion of Sukurranallur, in Vēļā-nāḍu in Kulōttuṅgassōḻa-vaḷanāḍu. purchased for 1500 is, to god Srmulasthanam-uḍaiyār of Tiruvārūr. by Palaiyaṉūruḍaiyāṉ Vēdavaṇamuḍaiyāṇ Ammai Appan alias Pallavarājān of Mēnmalai-ppalaiyaṉūr (Vide Nos. 582 and 583 above).

This epigraph records a grant of land in Sirunallur a brahmadiya in Tēvūr-nāḍu in Geyamāṉikka-vaḷanāḍu as tirunāmāṭṭukkāṇi to god Tiruvārūruḍaiyār by Vēḷāṉ Kongil-pillaiyan of Kalanivayil in Eyil-nāḍu in pāṇḍikulapati-vaḷanāḍu. The lands are stated to have been purchased for this purpose even in the 32nd year of the king but were in the enjoyment of the donor.

This inscription commences with the praśasti Pūmannu pāḍumam of Kulōttuṅga. The details of date given viz. Year 10 Dhanus śu. 11, Monday, ASvāti, regularly corres- pond to 1142 A.D., November 30, 98, 68. It records the sale of land made tax free, as kuḍinīkkākkāṇi to god Tiruvārūruḍai yar Srimülasthanamuḍaiyār for the korru of the 12 tavasiyār who were tending the gardens and supplying Sengalunir-ttiruppallittamam from the garden at Vayarrür Kulōttuṅgaśōḻan Perungulam by the sabhā of Rājārājābrahmamaṅgalam, a brahma- deya in Tiruvārūr-kūṟṟam in Gēyamāṉikka-vaḷanāḍu, having met at Dēvaśriyan Tirukkavaṇam receiving from the temple 157 1/2 anrāḍu naṟkāśu. The sale of another piece of land similar to this, for supply of the damanaka flowers is also recorded. The Sabha reserved for itself the supervisory functions and the respon- sibility to make over the produce of these lands to the temple.

The details of date given viz. year 20, Makara śu. 13, Wednesday, Punarpūšam regularly correspond to 1266 A.D., January 20, 77, -82. This inscription records the grant of two pieces of land by Pirambar Visaiyapālar of TiruvidaiMarudūr to the matha built for the tapasyar, who were tending the gardens of the temple, doing other services in the shrines of gods Alagiya Tiruchchiṟṟambalam- uḍaiyār and Porpatikku-nāyakiśvaramuḍaiyār, set up by the donor and Alagappēṟumā alias Kalappalarayar of Sirunangūr. One of the pieces of the land is stated to have been purchased from Umaiyālvi alias Alagiluma lagiyadēva- ttalaikkōli, one of the dancing girls (pāḍiyilar) living in the northern row of Irāśākka! tambiran-tiruvīdi Sannadhi-ttiruvīdi. The mahāsabha of Adiyakkai-chcharuppēdi- maṅgalam, a brahmadēya in Tiruvārūr-kkūṟṟam in Gēyamāṉikka-vaḷanāḍu remitted the taxes on the lands.

This record commences with the praśasti, Pūmāḍu puṇara etc., of Vikramachōḻa. The details of date mentioned viz., year, 4, Rishabha, śu. 3, Wednesday, Tiruvādirai, regularly correspond to 1122 A.D., May 10, 66 53. It records the price-deed (poruļmāvaṛudi) pertaining to the gift of land by purchase for a tank to be called Neḍungulam, to the temple, from the Perunguṛi mahāsabhā of Tirunallur, a brahmadēya in Vēļā-nāḍu, in Kulōttuṅgassōḻa-vaḷanāḍu when they were assembled in Rājānārāyaṇan-tirumaṇḍapam, by Madhurantakan Ponnambalakkuttan alias Porkōyilnambi Tonḍaimänär of Arumbakkam in Manavil-kōṭṭam. The land was purchased for 100 kāśu given in gold currency of 32 kalañju equal in value to Rājā- rājān-māḍai was endowed in order to supply Senkalunir flower for the god.

This inscription is dated in the 303rd day of the 7th regnal year of Rājārājākēsari- varman, i.e., Rājārājā I. This records an endowment of 234 kāśu equivalent to 200 kalañju as pudukku- ppūram (capital funds for renovation) of the shrine for god Amarasundaradēva and goddess Uma Bhāṭṭāraki whose images were set up by Uḍaiya-pirāṭṭiyār Sembian- mahādēviyār in the temple of Tiruvaraneri Āḷvār at Tiruvārūr raised in stone by her. Provision was also made from these funds for worship and other offerings for the deities. The sabha of Adiyappiya-chaturvēdimaṅgalam undertook to be in charge of the endow. ment. Sembiyaṉ Ambar-nāṭṭukkōṉār was the Srikaryam officer.

The inscription appears to be a later copy as the characters are assignable only to the 12th century. This records an undertaking given by the sabha of Pandanainallur, a brahmadēya in Tiruvārūr-kūṟṟam to provide oil for a perpetual lamp for god Sri Arür-ttiru-araneri Mahadēva Bhāṭṭāra[ka*]r out of the interest from 30 kalanju endowed for that purpose by Srikōyil Dēvaṇār......

This inscription commences with the praśasti Pugal śūlnda punari of KulōttuṅgaI. Though the portion containing the date is lost in the body of the grant it is stated that this grant issued in the 27th year became necessary as the endowment already made in the 26th year was found insufficient. It records the sale of land, made tax-free, to god Tirumaṇḍali-udaiya Mahadēva probably by the same sabha as in No. 623 above, receiving 6 and mākāņi kāśu endowed for offerings on specified occasions and for feeding Sivayogis and Māhēśvaras, by Pāṭṭaśā......[Se]llur-kkāri Pavala-kkunru alias Nārpāṭṭeņṇāyira-vannadānanangai Ta i-Nindi and Sellur-kkäri Pārpati.
