InscriptionThe introduction commences with the words Pūmālai miaḍindu. The inscription registers an order of the king, conveyed through the Tirumandiravōḻai (Royal Secretary) Madhurāntaka -Paravaināṭṭu-Mūvēndavēlāṉ, and the uḷvari executed by 7 other puravu- vari officers, granting ten vēli of land in five different plots as tax-free dēvadāṉa, for the requirements of worship and offerings to God Kulōttuṅga-Chōḷiśvaramuḍaiya-Mahādeva, consecrated by Svāmidēvar Śrikaṇṭha-Śiva for the merit of (the king's predecessor) Kulōttuṅga-Chōḻa I, at Mangāḷākkuḍia hamlet of Sōḻamārttāṇḍa-chaturvēdimaṅgalam in Maṇṇi-nāḍu a subdivision of Virudārajabhayaṅkara-vaḷanāḍu. Of this land, 8 vēli and odd is said to have formed part of a dēvadāṉa originally belonging to the temple at Viṅgunir-tirutturutti. The total yield from the lands was 1525 kalam of paddy including 1000 kalam by way of kapikkaḍan at the rate of a hundred kalam on every vēli of land. The teacher Śrikaṇṭha-Śiva was possibly the same as, if not a predecessor to, Śrikaṇṭha-Śambu the father of Śōmēśvara the royal preceptor of Kulōttuṅga-Chōḻja III, who performed the consecration ceremony of the God at Tribhuvanam temple built by his disciple (vide An. InscriptionThe inscription begins with a short introduction with the words Pūmēvi valar. It registers the sale of 12 vēli and 8 mā of lands, said to have been classified into four different grades (according to yield) in the 4th year of Vikrama-Chōḻa, by the mahā- Sabhā of Kulōttuṅgasōḻamaṅgalam separated from the brahmadēya village Kēraḷāntaka- chaturvēdimaṅgalam, to one Vāmaṉaṉ Anbarkkaraiśu alias Tirunaṛaiyurnāṭṭukkōṉ of Taṇḍattottam who was to pay the dēvarkaḍamai to the temple and antarāyam of 778 kalam and odd of paddy and 21 and odd kāśu respectively. The reason for the sale seems to be that the lands became fallow by neglect on account of the sabha's inability to cultivate them and consequently arrears of the rent due to the temple had accumulated.Sep 02, 2026 -

The inscription is damaged after the 8th line, and seems to register a gift of 30 vēli of land as dēvadāṉa-ṛiaiyili for the expenses of worship and offerings to the deity during the daily service in the temple instituted in the name of the king, and on some special festival days every month.
