இரண்டு நந்தாவிளக்கெரிப்பதற்கு வைத்த பொன் ஊர்க்கற் செம்மை அறுபதின் கழஞ்சு இப்பொன் கொண்டு …. மூன்று மஞ்சாடிப்பொன் பலிசையாக இவ்வாட்டை கார்த்திகை முதலாறாறு திங்களில் நாற்கழஞ்சரைச்செய்து … இரண்டு சோறு குடுப்போமானோம்……. நிசதி எட்டரை காணம் தண்டமிட ஒட்டிக்குடுத்தொம்.

அறுபதின் கழஞ்சு பொன்னுள் தான் பிறந்த சோதி நாள் திருவமிர்து பத்தெட்டுக்குத்தற் பழவரிசி பதினறு நாழிக்கும் ஸ்நபனத்திற்கும் திருவமிற்துக்குமாக நெய் ஆறு நாழிக்கும் சர்க்கரை பலமுங் etc.

இவ்வாயிரம் குழியாலும் …. நிசதி நானாழி அரிசி இரண்டு சந்திவிளக்கினுக்கும் உழக்கெண்ணையும் இவ்வூர் தர்மிகளோம்

கைக்கொண்ட புர நிறை செம்பொன் 100 கழஞ்சுக்கு எரிக்ககடவதாக

பூத்தோறும் பட்டியா லொரு காடி நெல்

திருநுந்தாவிளக்கெரிவதற்க்கு வைத்த துளைப்பொன் 13 கழஞ்சு கொண்டு நிசதம் உழக்கு நெய் பண்டாரத்தெ அட்டுவதாகக் கொண்டோம்

நிலம் காணி அரைக்காணிச் செய்யும் விற்றுக்குடுத்து எப்பேற்பட்ட இறையுங் காத்து குடுப்போமானொம்

This is stated to be a copy of an old inscription. It records an agreement by the sabhā of Tirukkōḍikā alias Kaṇṇnnamaṅgalam in Nallāṟṟūr-nāḍu on the northern bank of the river), to make immune from all taxes, a piece of land sold by them to a resident of the village by name Attiraiyan Kiḻavaṉ kōḍikāvaṉ who endowed it to the temple of Mahādēva as meḻukkuppuram, ie, for the maintenance of a servant for cleaning the premises.

இப்பொன் முப்பதின் இதன் பலிசையாற் தேவர்நாழியோடொக்கும் முழக்கினால் கொடுவந்து அட்டுவோம்மான நெய்

This records an endowment of 30 kaḷañju of gold by Vēlān Tiruvenkāḍaḍigaḷ alias Müvēnda-Piḍavür-Vēlāṇ of Piḍavür in Piḍavür-nāḍu for burning a perpetual lamp in the temple of Tiruchchōṟṟuttuṟai-Mahādēva. The ūrkilār-makkal of kōḍiyālam, the brahmadēya -kiiavargal and the urar of the village, held themselves responsible for the maintenance of the lamp. Evidently the same gift is recorded in No. 137 of 1931 also in Sanskrit, the text of which is given below. To judge from its writing and disposition with regard to No. 138 of 1931 of the 13th year of Parāntaka I, this is possibly a record of Gaṇḍarāditya.

நிலஞ்செய்து மடக்கி இறைப்படி வந்த நிலம் கஇ இந்நிலம் ஒன்றறையாலும் வந்த இறைவாசல்

This is incomplete and damaged. It seems to register the exemption granted by the Mahāsabhā of Mādaṉamañjari-chaturvēdimaṅgalam a brahmadēya of Neņmali- nadu to the temple of Tiruviramīśvarattu-Mahādēva at the village, from the payment of taxes on one (vēli) and a half of land endowed after purchase by Tirumafijanappichchar, a servant (karmi) of the temple, in consideration of a lump- sum received by them from the donor.

நிலம் பத்துமாவும் உண்ணிலம் ஒழிவின்றி

நொந்தாவிளக்கு ஒன்றினுக்கு படி உழக்கினால் நிசதம் உழக்கு நெய் யெரிய வைத்த பொன் 12 கழஞ்சு

அமுது செய்யும் வண்ணம் ஊட்ட கொண்ட செம் பொன் அறுபதின் கழஞ்சு இப்பொன் கொண்டு குடுத்த நிலமாவது

This records an endowment of 60 kaḷañju of gold by a certain Ayyan Vembadiga! of the Pärttivaśēkarat-teriñja-Kaikkōlar (regiment ?) for daily offerings and for feeding in the temple of Tiruvengadudēvar. The assembly of Nangur received the amount and sold to the temple tax-free, one ili of land for this purpose. Among the boundaries of the land mentioned, are a high road leading to Pattanam (Kāvērippumpaṭṭinam). and another land which had been endowed to the temple by a certain KottappichChōḷar (Pottapi-Chōḷa). This person may be identical with the chief PottappichChōḷar Sattiyaraiyar figuring in a record from Vriddhachalam in the South Arcot district (No 49 of 1918), dated in the 7th year of Rājarāja I. and hence the present inscription may be assigned to that king. Pārthivaśēkhara after whom the Kaikkōlar regiment was called seems to have been a title of Rājarāja.

நிலம் உப இரண்டுமாவும் சந்திராதித்தவரை ஒரு நொந்தாவிளக்கெரிப்பதாக இறைநீக்கி

This records a gift of 2 mā of land left in charge of the dēvakarmis for burning a perpetual lamp in the temple of Paramasvami at Tiruppuṟambiyam, a dēvadāna separated from the division Andaṭṭu-kūṟṟam', by Sāvāndi Kumaran Mādēvan of Iḍaiyārrukkuḍi (residing at) at Vänavaṇmādēvi-chaturvēdimaṅgalam, a brahn adēya in Innambar-nāḍu The name of the brahmadēya village suggests its origin to Vāṇava¬mahādēvi, a queen of Uttama-Chōḷa (M.E.R. 1926, II,21) or to the queen of Sundara-Chōḷa, the mother of Rājarāja I (ibid. II, 16).

This inscription is damaged. It seems to register the mortgage of a piece of land for the dues of 200 kalam of paddy by Koṟṟappaḷḷi Kaṇḍṉn Ayyan a resident- scholar (?) of the village, to the temple at Tiruviḍaikkaḻi, a dēvadāna in Kuṟumbūr- nāḍu. The characters appear to be similar to those of No. 17 above.

குடுத்த வெள்ளிக் கலசபானை ஒன்று …. பத்துனால் கழஞ்சு

This is a fragmentary epigraph registering a gift of a silver vessel to (god) Śrī Pugalūrdēva. Below and close to this is another fragment of the 3rd year of a king whose name is lost, which records gift of a silver pot to the same deity by Pa(Bha)ṭṭan Danatungi[yār], a queen of Uttama-Chōḷa.

ஒரு நொந்தாவிளக்கு எரிவதற்க்கு வைத்த பொன் 30 கழஞ்சு

This records a gift of 30 kaḷañju of gold for a perpetual lamp in the temple of Mahādēva at Tiruppaḻaṉam, a dīvadāna in Mirai-kūṟṟam, by Sōḻaperumānaḍigaḷ Peru- nerkillich-Chōḷa. The donor is evidently identical with king Rājakēsarivarman himself who was called so after his great ancestor Perunaṟkiḷḷi of Sangam fame who performed the Rājasiya sacrifice. The same surname is found for the donor in No. 15 above from Tiruveṅkāḍu, which is also dated in the 2nd year of Rājakēsari-varman.

நாராயத்தால் உழக்கு நெய் அட்டுவோம் ஆநோம்

A gift of 90 sheep left in charge of the sabhā of Siṟupaḷuvūr for the daily supply of an uḻakku of ghee by the nārāyam (measure) for burning a perpetual lamp in the temple of Tiruvalandurai-Mahādēva of the village, by Nakkaṉ Kādaṇār of Paḷuvūr.

பொன் (குறியீடு) பதின்முக்கழஞ்செ முக்காலெ இரண்டுமஞ்சாடியும் படங்கொட்டி இட்டன பட்டம் இரண்டு

The inscription is slightly damaged. It registers the gift of two forehead plates to the deity out of about 14 kaḷañju of gold collected as fine from 3 members of the nagarattār community of the village by Ayan Kāmakkōḍaṉār while he was the investigating officer of the affairs of the temple (śrīkāryam) at Tirune[y]ttānam. The name of one of the nagarattār is given as Ariñjigai Neyttaṇan. This is possibly a record of the reign of Sundara-Chōḷa.

எட்டுமாவும் முற்றிபெற்ற இன்நிலமும் பொதைஞ்குடம் நீர் காவிரி நீர் அட்டுவோம்மானோம், கழஞ்சு பொன்னும் கொண்டு திங்கள் ஒரு குடம் தூணி கொள்ளும் குடத்தால் பொதைங்குட நீர் அட்டுவோமானோம்

This is said to be a copy of, and to cancel, an old document engraved on a loose stone now become useless. It records an endowment of 8 mu of land after purchasing it free of all taxes from the sabhā of Tirukkōḍikā alias Kaņṇamaṅgalam, by Māśēṉaṉ Mādaṉ of Sirukāṭṭūr in Mērkkā-nāḍu, to provide for the supply of 5 pots of water (thrice?) every day by the temple servants from the river Kaviri for the sacred bath of the god. A kaḷañju of gold was also separately endowed for the purchase of a (mud) pot of one tūņi capacity every month with the interest thereon

அரைக்காற் செய்யும் நந்த வானம் இறைப்பாற்க்கு நான் திருக்கொடிகாவான … ….. விலைகொண்ட ஒரு மாவு…

Like all the other records of this place, this also is stated to be a copy of an old inscription engraved an a loose stone which had become useless, and hence to cancel that record. It registers an endowment of three plots of land after purchase, one for converting it into a flower-garden and the other two for the maintenance of its gardeners, for the benefit of the temple of Tirukkōḍikka by Perumbiḍigu Viñja- vadiyaraiyaṉ alias Nakkaṉ Seruviḍai of Kilandi in Malli-nāḍu. The sabhā of Kaņṇa- maṅgalam which was the other name of Tirukkōḍikkā, agreed to make the lands immune from all taxes.

நிசதி உழக்கு நெய்யால் ஒரு நொந்தா விளக்கு …. வைத்த ஆடு 90

This inscription is damaged and also built in. It records a gift of 90 sheep for burning a perpetual lamp in the temple at Tiruchchōṟṟuttuṟai, probably by the donor mentioned in No. 237 above. The early writing and the virāma mark over the consonants make the inscription assignable to Āditya I.

ஒரு நொந்தாவிளக்கு நிசதி உரிய் நெய்யால் எரிவதற்க்கு குடுத்த பொன் 30 கழஞ்சு பொன்னுங் கொண்டு பெருமானடிகளுக்கு திருவிளக்கினுக்கு விற்றுக்குடுத்த நிலம்மாவது நான்கு மாக்காணியும்

இத்திருச்செலூர் மாதேவர்வசம் தர்மப்ரதியினால் பொலிவதாக குடுத்த கருங்காசு 20

This is a bilingual record in Sanskrit (portions damaged) and Tamil, and registers an endowment of 20 Karunkāsu made to the temple by Bāradāyaṉ Sēnda- Nakkapiran baṭṭa-Sarvakratuyājiyār of kūṟṟamaṅgalam (the same as the donor of No. 169 above of the 7th year of Rājakēsarivarman), with the proviso that the annual interest of 3 kāśu accruing therefrom was to be given as prize among the competitors, excluding those who were successful in previous years, to the best reciter of prescribed portions of Jaiminiya-Samavēda before the god on the night of Tiruvadirai in Margali month. The record might be one of Sundara-Chōḷa Parāntaka II.

நில முட்பட விற்றுக்குடுத்து நாங்கள் தண்டகாணத்துக் கிட்ட பொன் (குறியீடு) எழுபதிருகழஞ்செ அறுமஞ்சாடியு மூன்றுமாவுக்கு

This is probably an inscription of Sundara-Chōḷa. It comprises two parts the earlier of which registers the sale of a land by two brothers named Bāradāyaṉ Nārāyaṇan Turutti and Bāradāyaṉ Nārāyaṇaṇ Nakkaṉ of Tirutturutti in Ārkāṭṭu- kṟṟūam, to the temple to meet the fine (daṇḍakāṇam) of 72 kalañju and odd of gold imposed by the assembly of the village upon their brother Nārāyaṇaḥ Śrīmādhavan, who however, seems to have died (or run away) without paying the fine. The land included their own portion also in addition to that belonging to their brother and to Bāra- dāyaṇ Nārāyaṇan Srikaṇṭaṉ alias Narayaṇaṇ Tāli who had stood surety to the defaulter- brother. The latter portion states that on the representation (made by these two brothers and by Tali to the king) that their land was unjustly mixed up in the sale transaction for no fault of theirs, it was restored to them by the king's orders. A portion at the end of the inscription being built in, the exact nature of the conditions of the return is not clear.

This records an endowment of 12 kaḷañju of gold left with the sabhā of Tirut- turutti for burning a lamp in the temple throughout the day-time, by Pa[rā]siriyan Piḍāranār, a resident of the village

This inscription is engraved in early characters with the virāma marked for final consonants, and may therefore be assigned to Āditya I. It is built in at the right end. It records an endowment of 25 kaḷañju of gold for burning a lamp with 5 pidi of ghee to be supplied daily from the interest thereon, by . . . yan Nāgan.
